Les grands thèmes du Code de Sainteté (Lév. 17-26), tels que l’Exode, la sainteté et le pays, ne doivent pas être interprétés isolément. Ils forment une structure conceptuelle cohérente, organisée autour de la notion de la présence immanente de YHWH dans son sanctuaire. C'est ce cadre conceptuel qui porte le discours et lui donne son sens.

Compte tenu de l’importance qu'il donne au détachement, Eckhart n'est pas tenu pour un philosophe du sujet. Il préconise plutôt la déconstruction de l'individualité. Mais, cette déconstruction a pour seule fonction de « briser la coque », afin de permettre l’assomption de la personne, comme le manifestent les figures de Marthe, de l’homme noble... ce qui invite à une relecture de son oeuvre dans cette perspective.

Secondly, how does the question of the historicity of human subjects relate to the assertion, through faith, of the resurrection ? The inquiry is structured by the successive evaluation of the notions of finiteness, the Cross, narration, faith and identity.
